Communications Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a creative, brave and inspiring Communications Manager to lead the marketing of Loughborough Students’ Union and drive forward how we communicate with our members.

Working alongside our elected student officers and Union staff, you will lead the Communication and Student Insight team and ensure that we engage effectively with our members to deliver services and activities to enhance and enrich their lives. 

With a passion for bringing a brand to life through storytelling, you are driven to understand audiences and know how to ask the right questions to stimulate content that helps, informs and inspires. You are a proven team leader, experienced at coaching and managing others to deliver effective campaigns. 

You will manage a small team, working closely with other areas of LSU to create marketing strategies and plans and develop content across a range of channels. Strong planning, project management and organisational skills are essential to ensure a number of content projects and campaigns are delivered to deadlines.

Commercial Marketing Assistant

We are seeking an original and imaginative individual to work within our Communications and Student Insights Team to design and deliver creative and innovative promotional campaigns to attract customers and drive sales across our wide range of commercial outlets.

In partnership with our Commercial Services Team, you would support and deliver wide-ranging creative promotions across our diverse entertainments programme to developing specific, creative and relevant offers across our shops, bars and catering outlets that ensure we’re giving our students offers that matter to them.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a creative flair and skill to join a fast-paced environment and play a part in creating demand and excitement amongst our diverse range of customers.

Media & Communications Intern

Full time, fixed term 12-Month appointment

Are you passionate about Media? We are seeking a creative, highly motivated individual to support the LSU Communications Team and LSU Media section departments with media training, student development and multi-media output at Loughborough Students’ Union.

Our award-winning media section produces content for students across Loughborough University and further afield. You’d be supporting one of the biggest student media units in the UK, working and assisting students in creating the best possible content.

You’ll get the opportunity to work on major events across the Loughborough University, including Live Streaming of Video and Live Event Production.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a creative flair, with a good knowledge of technical media and Adobe Creative Cloud. We work in a fast-paced environment where every day is different, the ability to adapt quickly essential.

Advice & Education Projects Assistant

We are seeking an approachable, proactive and adaptable individual to join our Advice & Academic Representation team in providing independant, confidential and non-judgmental advice to students (comprehensive training provided). The successful candidate will also work with the Education Executive Officer, academic representatives and colleagues across LSU to deliver projects to enhance the educational experience at Loughborough University.

Pay - LSU Scale 7/23 c£20, 275 per annum

Benefits include contributory pension scheme, enhanced statutory holidays, staff discounts, healthshield cover and access to University facilities.
Hours - Full-time 35 hours per week, full year. Working times to be agreed with the Head of Advice & Academic Representation.

Athletic Union Senior Administrator

LSU Scale 7, currently £24,711-£27,025pa

Are you passionate about student sport, with outstanding communication and operational skills, great team-working skills and an ethos of using your initiative?

This is a unique opportunity to take a leadership role in the most successful Athletic Union in the UK.  We require an enthusiastic and energetic, organised individual with a commitment to providing and developing excellent service to the end user.

You will be working in a very busy lively office with the AU Executive and AU staff, liaising with BUCS, NGBs, our sports teams, University and Loughborough College contacts, to ensure the vital operational functions around participation of the sporting clubs of Loughborough’s Athletic Union take place and are developed to ensure Loughborough AU maintains its pre-eminent position.
