Rhys Jones - Chair

Rhys has played for LSU Touch for two years now, and started at the taster sessions in his fresher's week. He has been a key 'fast mid' player in his time here, often injecting that extra bit of gas to take us off the mark. Rhys is a member of the West Wildcats Men's Open Regional team but also does Judo when he's not on the touch field. As Chair it is his responsibility to oversee all goings on in the society, and he will aim to organise plenty of tournaments both nationally and internationally for the society this year. Thankfully, Rhys is faster at all things touch than he is at processing banter.

Jessica Whitehead - Treasurer

Jess has been a member of LSU Touch Rugby for one year. She joined the society when she came to university having only played odd tournaments at her high school team. Having worked hard at training, her ability improved significantly and played in all three of the UTS tournaments in the 2015-16 season. She has deceptive pace on the wing which can be a great surprise to her opponents. Jess is currently in her third year studying Civil Engineering. Jess also enjoys intense fitness challenges including half marathons and Tough Mudder.

Emily Crowe - Secretary

Em started playing touch six years ago at school and at club level in Singapore. When she moved back to the UK, she was selected to play for the England U18 Mixed Team and represented her country at the Junior European Championships in 2014. In 2015, she was selected to play for the England Women's Open Team and played in the Touch World Cup in Australia. Her knowledge and experience of the game is often vital in our training sessions and tournaments to help us to gain the competitive edge over our rivals.

Liv is currently in her second year studying English and American Studies. She started playing touch when she was 10 years old for her school and club in Singapore. When she moved back to England a few years ago, she was selected to play for the England U18 Girls team at the Junior European Touch Championships in 2015. She has played in all three tournaments for LSU Touch Rugby and also plays in the NTS tournament for London Scorpions. Her regional team are the South East Taipans Women's Open and she also enjoys playing netball and going to the gym.

Matt Clark - Social

Matt is a big character in LSU Touch Rugby but aside from this, he's in his third year at Luffs, studying Mechanical Engineering. Matt has always been into sport, but especially rugby and tennis. Having been left on the sidelines in rugby due to his athletic figure, he joined LSU Touch Rugby in his first year and hasn't turned back. Matt is a very familiar face and has an infectious laugh at training sessions and is a valuable member of the squad. Matt won the award for 'Most Improved Player' in the last season and played at the Touch Nationals representing the West Wildcats.

Rianne Hopkins - Media and Stash

Rianne joined LSU Touch Rugby Society last year when she started university, with no previous touch or rugby based experience. As a super keen fresher, she progressed to improve her technique and ability as a player and played in two UTS tournaments and in the Eastern European Touch League when we went on tour to Budapest in April 2015. Rianne then successfully trialled for a place in the Mixed Open squad for the West Wildcats Regional Touch Team. Aside from touch, Rianne plays the violin to a high standard and is in her second year studying Civil Engineering.
