Loughborough Finance and Investment Society
The Loughborough Finance and Investment Society (LFIS) is the biggest society on campus, with an active membership base of over 400 students and an enormous network of alumni. The society is proud to be consistently sponsored by finance industry giants, many of whom lead within the Financial and Professional Services. The LFIS is a professional and established student organization and is known to be one of the most exciting and up-and-coming finance societies in the UK.
Our mission is to provide our members with a platform to develop the relevant skills required for a successful career in the financial world and impart them with a unique insight into the different aspects of financial and professional services. The society aims to provide our members with the opportunity to network with firms within the financial industry, as well as with other students and alumni interested in advancing their careers within the financial sector. Likewise, we assist our partners by providing them with a platform to promote their graduate recruitment programmes, whilst inspiring potential recruits and fulfilling our members’ career aspirations.
The LFIS is open to all students enrolled at the university and caters for anyone with an interest in the Financial Services (Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Asset Management, Finance, Technology, Operations, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, etc.), Professional Services (Tax, Audit, Accountancy & Advisory), Management Consultancy and Inter-dealer Broking. Moreover, we strive to network with other universities across the UK to grant our members with the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. The LFIS thoroughly respect and promote the involvement of women within the financial sector. We have a dedicated ‘Women in Finance’ Officer who ensures the active engagement of our female membership, helping us to provide diverse events throughout the academic year.

- Networking Events: Trips to financial centres, insight days, networking dinners and alumni events.
- Social Events: Themed nights out, cocktail/ punch parties and charity event
