The annual Enactus National competition was held at Excel over the Easter break. With 52 Universities from across the country competing, there could only be one winning team who would go on to represent the UK at the Enactus World Cup in September. Enactus is a community of enterprising students dedicated to cultivating innovation to create quality, lasting social impact. They do this by creating social enterprises that will create a positive impact in the community.
This year, a team of 64 Loughborough students worked tirelessly to prepare and deliver, two projects which they presented in front of business experts who made up the judging panel. The first project, Prep Mate, a kitchen-aid designed to help arm amputees prepare food, a problem identified by the team. The second, LoConnect, a skills exchanging program connecting the aged and young local communities together.
Nationals is an experience like no other with teams from across the country coming together to share what we have been working on and compete with the impact they made.
Although, Loughborough didn't reach the final 4, they managed to get to the last 16 in the semi-finals with a fantastic 17-minute presentation that they delivered without fault.
We congratulate Enactus Edinburgh and wish them all the best as they compete in Silicon Valley for the Enactus World Cup!
