1 day to change the odds of surviving cardiac arrest.
Only 8% of patients survive a cardiac arrest in England and less than half of adults feel able to intervene when they witness someone collapse, partly due to lack of confidence and training. On the 14th February, Loughborough University, Loughborough Students’ Union and the British Heart Foundation have teamed up to increase cardiac arrest survival rates.
Over the course of the day we are aiming to train or provide refresher training in CPR for 1,300 individuals and in the process hope to bring the East Midland' cardiac arrest survival rate of 1/8 in line with the national average of 1/10.
