Loughborough does Movember 2018
November. The air gets colder, the sky gets darker, the moustaches get longer. This year Rag have taken the succesful 'Halls do Balls' campaign and morphed it into the campus wide 'Loughborough Does Movember' campaign supporting the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation is at the forefront of combating a hidden crisis; the state of men's health. Prostate cancer rates are expected to double in the next 15 years. Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50. Three quarter of suicides are men.
Movember aims to break the silence around this crisis. The money raised by the Movember Foundation is concentrated in three areas: testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental health/suicide prevention. By 2030, the Movember Foundation will reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.
This November, Loughborough will play its part in helping to fundraise to end this crisis.
How to get involved
Halls, Clubs, Departments, flats, individuals and everyone inbetween are encouraged to get involved in Movember. You don't need to be capable of growing a moustache to get involved. Read our event guide for more info on how to get started!
