Kids Camp is a project designed to give respite to a group of young carers aged 8-12 years. Starting in October, the team of volunteers responsible for organising the project, led by Pippa and Georgia, will begin to arrange all aspects of the trip. This includes meals, activities and exciting days out, so it’s an opportunity to be a kid again!!
The trip involves travelling to the Peak District, Derbyshire where we will stay at Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre from Monday 15th April until Friday 19th April 2019. Any potential volunteer must be available from the evening of Sunday 14th April (for a pre-trip briefing) until the evening of Friday 19th April. Please bare in mind that this trip takes place during the Easter break and will start and end at Loughborough Students’ Union.
We will have a ‘meet and greet’ evening before the trip, to allow the volunteers and kids to meet. This also gives an opportunity to showcase how fun the trip will be for the kids! A month after the trip, we also have a reunion to bring an end to what we hope will be a fun project for both volunteers and kids!
All volunteers will require an Action DBS certificate (please click here to find out more about the DBS) and must attend a Safeguarding session (time TBC) before the trip.
This project is very popular and often over subscribed so volunteers need to go through an informal interview process to gain a place. A successful applicant will be enthusiastic, a great team player and highly commitmed to making the project the best it can be!
Please note you cannot take part in this oppurtunity if you are under 18.
