On the first Sunday of every month, Action volunteers host a tea party for approximately 15 local elderly residents with the aim of combatting social isolation. These residents rarely have the opportunity to go out, interact with others and perhaps don’t get to see their family very often. If you’re a good listener and like to chat over a cup of tea, sandwiches and scones, then this project is perfect for you! Volunteers quickly form friendships and it’s wonderful to hear and see first-hand how much the residents appreciate the time, effort and company given by the volunteers.
Volunteers are required from 12:30pm to 5pm to help set up, make sandwiches, prepare the other food and clear away afterwards.
