Culture in the Community

‘Share, experience and learn different cultures!’

Aim

Culture In The Community allows international students a chance to engage with the community and to break down cultural stereotypes and challenge preconceptions.

How does it work?

This project will be carried out throughout the academic year and includes a wide range of activities. Being a part of this project enables you to choose from among the activties you would like to get involved in. List of activities are shown below:-

1.    Schools’ presentation

Students from different countries visit local schools or community groups to run workshops and do presentations about their own cultures, traditions and values. This introduces children and others in the community to the various cultures with the aim of educating them and increasing awareness of globalisation.

2.    Collaborating with Soup Kitchen Loughborough

Being the master chef for underprivileged locals and allowing them to try your culture’s cuisine will be a good way to share your culture. On top of that, you will have the opportunity to work with an amazing team and meet some new people too.

3.    Kids International Day

Get some time off from your revision and join the kids! It is fun and rewarding as you will be able to share everything about your culture to the kids.
