This is a new sports action project and involves volunteering in primary schools delivering after school multi-sport clubs ranging from different sports every week. This looks at delivering fun and interesting sessions to kids motivating them within a variety of sports. Sports can include: football, hockey, lacrosse, basketball, netball, badminton and much more. If you are looking at teaching in the future this will provide you with invaluable teaching experience.
Sessions will be prepared for the volunteers, allowing volunteers to have a look and offer suggestions and any ideas that they would like within the sessions. Feedback will be gained from volunteers throughout each session on how they felt the session went and support will be given via project leader. Volunteers will be delivering sessions to children with a different sport every week, following a session plan.
Sessions are likley to be once a week for 1 hour but with setting up sessions and packing away equipment can run over to 1hr 15 minutes. Once schools are confirmed, further information will be released about dates and times for these sessions.
This Project requires you to have an Action DBS certificate. Please click here for more information about the DBS.
