Much in the same way that we want as many students to take part in Action, we love it when members of University and Union Staff get involved!

Last year the HR Department and Student Services took time out of their busy schedule to take part in projects such as painting an outdoor education centre and gardening along the canal, organised by Action.

“It was great to be able to do something different to our day jobs and still feel like we were contributing. It was an excellent day and all the colleagues I’ve spoken to thoroughly enjoyed it.” (Manual Alonso) (link: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/news-events/news/2015/april/action-day.html)

Did you know that you can take one day out of office each year to volunteer?

Loughborough University staff have the opportunity to take a day to volunteer each academic year as part of the Employer Supported Volunteering policy. This can be for an organisation in the local community, or for a project organised by the University and Union. Find out more about it here (http://www.lboro.ac.uk/services/hr/a-z/volunteering---employer-supported-volunteering-esv-policy.html)

So why not make the most of this opportunity and get involved?

If you would like to find out more, please don’t hesitate to message Steph Noble (Univeristy CSR Intern, HR) s.noble@lboro.ac.uk
